Instructions
Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay. Did you know that written text can also be art? I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like.
Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on my page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. Although I would like for you to write as much as you can, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 8:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.
On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although I am primarily looking a lot at the content, I will also be looking upon your grammar as well. Aim for grammatical accuracy. Nonetheless, have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

I would give up the smell if I had to lose one of my senses. Actually, I think all senses are important for me, but I feel the smell is more week than other senses. I easily smell all kinds of the objectionable smell compare with the sweet-scented smell, especially in public place. if i lose the smell, i could not smell the bad smell.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you would no longer be able to smell the sweet smells. Is that okay?
Deletei would lose my senses smell if i had to lose one. because the smell senses is not that important like listing or seeing. if you want to breath you can breath from your mouth so the smell is not that important and if i lose my smell senses it's good because i will not smell the bad smell.
ReplyDeleteHaha, the notion of the bad smell seems to be pretty popular!
DeleteAll of our senses are very important and no one like to lose one of their senses. But if I must lose one of my senses, I will choose smell because I think it is the least important sense in five senses. I need to eat food to survive so I cannot lose my month. I need to see the world so I cannot lose my eyes. I also need to listen and speak so I cannot lose my ears and month. I need to do a lot of works so I cannot lose my hands. Above all, I think nose is the least important thing so I decide to lose it if I must lose one of my senses.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting point, Xi!
DeleteIf I had to lose one of my senses, I would lose the smell sense. The sense of smell is also one of the most important part for human to smell our surrounded environment. Speaking of smell, when I lost a smell sense, I still have other senses which I can see, hear, taste, touching and hearing. For example, specifically, I am able to use other senses to feel the taste of foods even though I don't have a sense of smell. Anyway, without the sense of smell, I can have a good time and happy life.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you would be able to smell everything to the fullest if you lost it?
DeleteHonestly, it is really hard to lose one of my senses, but I believe the smell is the sense that I would lose if I have to. I believe that because the rest of my senses are more important than the smell.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think so?
DeleteOf course, I don't want to lose my any senses, if I had to lose one of my senses, I would give up a sense of smell. Actually, I think a sense of smell is less important than other senses when we compare with sight, hearing, touch and taste. Also because if I had to lose a sense of smell, I think it can be substituted by a taste organ. Lastly, because we can expose to bad smell unintentionally, If I had to give up one of my senses, I would chose a sense of smell.
ReplyDeleteHaha, bad smell plays a big part, huh?
DeleteI would lose my sight because i feel that it would be harder to lose the other senses. if i lost my smell then i wouldn't have the ability to taste food or drinks and i love to taste and enjoy food. i know some people who are blind and they are doing pretty well. in addition, there other senses are even much stronger than regular people. if i lost my hearing ability it would be living in a mute world and it would be hard to get around even with the other senses.
ReplyDeleteInteresting point!
DeleteActually all of senses are important for living and I’d like to achieve more than these senses such as sixth sense(accurate prediction), but if I had to lose one of my senses, I would give up my smell sense because my priority in senses for learning and sensing is sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. If I had to lose one of my senses I prefer to give up my last priority because without sight sense and hearing sense life is so difficult.
ReplyDeleteNice!
DeleteIf I had to lose one of my senses, I would choose the smell. However, it is hard for me to choose one sense to lose. Among all of my senses, they have their own responsibility, and they need to work together. I cannot image my life without one of my senses. If I lose sense of listening, I cannot communicate with other people easily, besides that, it is impossible for me to hear the voice of nature and the wonderful music. I am interested in eating delicious food, if I lose the taste, I would feel so sad because I cannot try different kinds of food. Also, the sight is very important for me, the black world may make me feel scare. In conclusion, I am afraid lose any one of my senses, I cannot image that. If I lose one of my senses, it is hard for me to enjoy my life.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is difficult to imagine life without one of our senses, but many people in this world do live with one sense-less!
DeleteIf I had to lose one of my senses, I would give up smell. All senses are important to live, but I think other senses are more important. If we lose seeing and listening, it is hard to live because we can’t do work, study, and enjoy life even though many people who can’t see and listen enjoy their life. And, I’m not going to want to live anymore and I will give up hope if I lose seeing and listening. Also, foods are important to live, and tastes make us feel better and decrease stress. Therefore, I think smell is less important.
ReplyDeleteHaha, interesting point!
DeleteIf I were lose one of my senses I would choose the smile sense. All senses are important, but I think smile less important. May be I will miss the flowers smile. I have a habit if I want to study I need to change the room smile. This create a good mood to study if I lost my smile sense probably I will be not smart anymore and I can’t study. However, I can’t imagine losing my sigh, hearing, talking, and feeling. All these senses important when I interact with their people, but in smile sense this just for me. Sometimes I hope if I can’t smile especially when I worked in my last job. I was working in main kitchen for Saudi Airline Catering. There were a lot of cooking smile; combined smiles of meat, rice, and pasta. I was really dislike this smiles, and the more worst is when I went to my home the smile was still on my clothes. I started to heat my job because of this smile. However, If I couldn’t smile these smiles I would not have problem with my job.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that is true. Food can definitely be a strong odor that lingers on our clothing.
DeleteIt is difficult to loss any sense that individuals have it. However, if I would choose one sense to lose it, it could be smell because couple of reasons. First, if you lose any sens that forces you to need help from other, in smell, for example, you don’t need help from other people if you lose it. Secondly, sometimes there is bad smell in crawdad place, whereas if you don’t have this sense, you are lucky that you are not able to smell it. Even though it is hard for everyone to lose their own senses, there are some of advantages to lose it in certain situation.
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting! I have never thought about the idea of needing help from others if we lose any of our other senses.
DeleteIf I had to lose one of my sense, I would lose the smell sense because the smell sense is not like listen or hear sense. Smell sense is not important like when the human taste the food of talking with people. Sometimes people smell something is bad and they hate it, so they hope to lost the smell sense. If the human lose the smell sense could effect on his or her heart.
ReplyDeleteInteresting point
DeleteIt is hard to choose between them, but if I had to loose one of my senses, it would be the sense of Touching, because I would say its less important than the other this from my perspective tho.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this less important?
